Dr. Daniel Eads, Western Cardiothoracic Surgery in Mesa, Arizona

Daniel Eads, MD

A career in medicine isn’t likely what classmates would have predicted for Dr. Eads when he attended MIT to study electrical engineering. He is currently the Chair of Surgery at Banner Heart Hospital and Banner Heart Executive Committee Member-at-Large.

Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Eads was a champion powerlifter in high school and has been inducted into the Louisiana State High School Powerlifting Hall of Fame. In college he applied his engineering skills as part of a robotics group providing assistive wheelchair technologies for multiple sclerosis patients. Dr. Eads enjoyed living in South Carolina before moving to Arizona in 2018. In the desert, his hobbies have shifted from water activities to hiking, which he enjoys with his wife, who is also a surgeon.
